My Review: Longtime fans of Stone Barrington are in for a treat. Here, Brett Battles proves once again that the beloved series remains in exceptionally capable hands, delivering a fast-paced mystery packed with intrigue, danger, and all the charm readers have come to expect from Stuart Woods’ iconic hero. What begins as a relaxing evening aboard a luxury yacht quickly spirals into disaster, thrusting Stone into a deadly investigation where nothing is quite as it seems. Battles, of course, wastes no time ratcheting up the suspense, expertly blending a classic whodunit with the globe-trotting excitement and high-society atmosphere that have defined the series for decades. As Stone digs deeper into the truth behind a tragic shipwreck, the stakes continue to rise, leading to a satisfying payoff that rewards readers who enjoy clever twists and steady suspense.

Most impressively, though, Battles captures the voice and wit that made Stone Barrington such an enduring character in the first place. The transition from Woods to Battles has truly felt seamless, allowing the series to evolve while remaining faithful to everything longtime fans love.

My Review: If you’re searching for pure adventure, look no further. Graham Brown delivers exactly the kind of high-stakes, globe-spanning thriller that has made the NUMA Files series a fan favorite for decades with Clive Cussler Cold Fire. Packed with cutting-edge technology, international intrigue, and unrelenting action, Brown’s latest outing proves there’s still plenty of fuel left in the tank for Kurt Austin and company. The story kicks off with a powerful next-generation NATO weapon vanishing over the Arctic, threatening to alter the balance of power between the world’s superpowers. From there, Brown wastes no time plunging readers into a pulse-pounding race against the clock that stretches from the frozen waters of the far north to the shadowy corridors of international espionage. At the center of it all, of course, remains Kurt Austin. Smart, capable, and endlessly resourceful, Austin remains one of the best heroes in Cussler’s stable of bestselling protagonists, and Brown, for his part, perfectly understands how to use him.

Fast-paced and packed with enough action to fill two summer blockbusters, Clive Cussler Cold Fire is everything readers want from a NUMA adventure.
